Cumbria Hill Farms chart their way on the World-Wide-Web
Friday 29th June 2007
Cumbrian Hill Farms are gathering together on the world-wide-web.
On Friday 29th June, a prototype website – the Cumbria Hill Farms Charter – was introduced to Tim Farron MP in his role as Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Hill Farming.
The Hill Farms Charter champions the cause of hill farms in Cumbria and creates a digital record of these invaluable assets to our region, the UK and to Europe.
The website offers a central place for farms to present the characteristics of their farms. This includes the products from their livestock, their management of the farm environment, its biodiversity and cultural heritage, and their contribution to public enjoyment and understanding.
Tim Farron joined farmers and public servants from agencies associated with Cumbrian Hill Farming, for the event which took place at Forest Hall Farm, Selside, nr Kendal on Friday 29th June at 10.00am.
