Over the next few months Friends of the Lake District (FLD) will be working in co-operation with other organisations and individuals to develop a proposal for a Cumbria Farm Events Project to help raise the profile of farming.

MARKETING THE PRODUCTS OF THE HILLS

The one-day seminar on marketing the products of the northern uplands, took place on Monday 3rd March. Guest speakers included Faith Johnson from the Peak District National Park Authority and Chris Clark of South Downs Lamb Marketing Ltd.

HILL FARMING MATTERS
On 31st January 2008 the Hill Farming Matters Conference took place at Melmerby Village Hall with guest speakers including Susan Denyer, Gywn Jones and Dr Pat Thompson.

On 29th June 2007, the Cumbria Hill Farms Charter website was introduced to Tim Farron MP in his role as Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Hill Farming.
