NATURAL ENGLAND
Natural England was formed by bringing together English Nature, the landscape, access and recreation elements of the Countryside Agency and the environmental land management functions of DEFRA’s Rural Development Service. The organisation now delivers the Government’s programme of financial incentives to farmers and land managers for the protection and enhancement of the natural environment. These include the new Environmental Stewardship schemes and the existing Environmentally Sensitive Area and Countryside Stewardship agreements.
