Wrostlers Barn offers basic bunkhouse accommodation in the most spectacular secluded location just meters from the eastern shore of Coniston Water. The stone bothy was converted from an isolated field barn and has recently been given an extensive refit including some insulation. Cooking facilities and a wood-burning stove have been added to make the barn suitable for families as well as outdoor enthusiasts. More information is available at the website www.groupaccommodation.com
There is also a small campsite which stands in a woodland glade within the fringe of the nationally important Dodgson Wood SSSI (site of special scientific interest). The site has composting toilets, cold running water and a campfire facility.

The farm house at Park-a-Moor is leased to Grizedale Arts and is rented out to painters, poets or anyone else who wants to get away from it all and be creative. The farmhouse, and the Atkinson family, have featured in two films about Cumbria including the one shown at the Rheged centre.
Coniston lake is very popular for all water sports but especially sailing and canoeing. There is also fishing both on the lake and on the River Crake with pike and trout being the most popular catches.

There is a lot of access land around Nibthwaite farm which also borders several very popular green roads, bridleways and footpaths.
There is a major bridleway crossing the land at Park-a-Moor which is very popular with mountain bikers and horse riders as it offers splendid views of the lake and surrounding area. This was subject to a major reinstatement project 7 years ago. All the intake at Park-a-Moor is now open access as is the moorland.
The Atkinsons have hosted open days for Natural England and the National Trust to look at their cattle based conservation grazing and particularly their work in protecting the Netted Carpet Moth and its host species the Touch-me-not-Balsam.
Nibthwaite is a traditional Lakeland upland farm with lots going on all year round. Being on the east side of Coniston Lake, the Atkinsons speak to a lot of visitors about the farm and the livestock.
As well as farming, John Atkinson works as an Uplands Access Advisor for the National Trust in Cumbria and also acts as Treasurer for the Federation of Cumbrian Commoners.
